Ambrose Alli University (AAU) is a state-owned university located in Edo State, Nigeria. It was created in 1981 by Ambrose Folorunsho Alli, the governor of Bendel State (now Delta and Edo States).
Accredited and recognized by the National Universities Commission (NUC), AAU was first called Bendel State University, then Edo State University, and eventually its current name in honor of Professor Ambrose Folorunsho Alli.

Applying to Ambrose Alli University (AAU) in Ekpoma can be done in the following ways:
1. Visit aaue.waeup.org to access the AAU portal.
2. To apply, click the Register button in the upper left corner.
3. Input your surname and JAMB registration number exactly as they appear on your JAMB registration slip.
4. It will produce and show a unique ID and password on the screen.

Requirements for students to be admitted to universities
1. 16 is the minimum age required to enter postsecondary institutions, unless a candidate has been identified as gifted.
2. A letter of recommendation or testimonial from the principal of the student’s previous secondary school is required when the student enters a postsecondary institution.
3. Every student must present a letter of recommendation from a member of the community who can attest to the student’s excellent behavior in order to be admitted or re-admitted.
